Thematic workshops

  1. ‘Open communication instead of political correctness’ led by Anna Janiak – President of the Fiona Foundation.
Communication is everything – not only what we say, but also what we do, our gestures, our attitude (...) silence, escape. How we think influences what we say, and what and how we say it changes or reinforces our way of thinking. Communication is also the first step in establishing a relationship and a prerequisite for cooperation. There is a lot to think about when it comes to communication in order to meet today's expectations and requirements in the area of accessibility and savoir vivre... but do we all understand the reasons for these changes and challenges in the same way? Is change necessary? Is it the most important thing? Let's talk.
  2. Neurodiversity in the workplace Paulina Gołaska-Ciesielska from the RELACYJNI Foundation's Relationship Support Centre. Neurodiversity in the workplace – from challenge to resource. A workshop on how to create work environments that are conducive to neurodiverse people – including those on the autism spectrum, with ADHD or dyslexia. Participants will learn practical strategies for supporting employees and tools for building an organisational culture based on inclusion, understanding and flexibility. During the workshop, we will look at what neurodiversity is in a professional context, discuss the most common barriers and ways to overcome them, look for solutions that help to harness the potential and strengths of employees, and consider how to develop the neuroinclusion skills of leaders and teams. The workshop is aimed at anyone interested in creating a workplace where diversity becomes a source of innovation and development.
  3. Counteracting discrimination in social services and healthcare – Led by Magda Szewciów. Discrimination does not always take the form of openly expressed prejudice; much more often, it manifests itself in more subtle ways: through language, unconscious assumptions, institutional guidelines or accessibility issues that remain invisible to most people. During the workshop, we will look at how prejudices and stereotypes affect relationships with people using social services and healthcare, and how, without simple recipes but with the intention of greater awareness and responsibility, we can create more inclusive and equitable practices in our daily work.
  4. Rainbow families in social services, healthcare and education – Led by Dr Jowita Wycisk and Dr Joanna Śmiecińska Increasing knowledge about families in which two people of the same sex are raising children, strengthening agency and alliance with rainbow families. Benefits for participants: obtaining basic information about non-heteronormative parenting in Poznań and Poland, understanding the specific needs of children and parents from rainbow families, improving competence in professional interactions with rainbow families (social services, government offices, schools, health services), strengthening and inspiring the search for solutions in problematic situations. After the introduction, in a short exercise we will discuss the needs and resources of the family, present basic information about same-sex couples in Poland (including the legal situation), listen to the statements of children from rainbow families, conduct an exercise inspired by a real-life situation of a rainbow family, answer questions, and finally encourage participants to formulate the first step towards improving the situation of rainbow families.
